Growing up within the child welfare system and grappling with the criminal justice system, Kerry’s journey took a pivotal turn one morning in a prison cell. That moment ignited a remarkable and ongoing commitment to change, propelling him to achieve national impact.

Today, Kerry stands as a beacon of hope: a Certified Addictions Counsellor (CIAC), Canadian Certified Sex Addiction Specialist (CCSAS), a published author and actor, addictions consultant, and inspiring keynote speaker.

His life echoes the powerful truth, as Gabor Maté so eloquently put it: “We all deserve and can have second chances and new chances, so long as we live.”

Nikita Gauthier is the Housing Manager at Shaganappi Recovery Solutions Inc. and a proud Métis woman from the Lac Ste. Anne area who was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Drawing on her lived experience, Nikita brings compassion, resilience, and a genuine understanding of the challenges many individuals face as they begin their recovery journey.

Nikita has a natural ability to build trusting relationships with clients by meeting them with empathy, respect, and without judgment. Her approachable nature and authentic lived experience allow her to connect with individuals from all walks of life, helping them feel safe, heard, and supported during some of the most difficult times in their lives. She believes that meaningful connections are the foundation of healing and that every person deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life with dignity and hope.

Guided by Indigenous values of community, culture, respect, and healing, Nikita is committed to creating a safe, structured, and culturally supportive environment where clients are encouraged to recognize their strengths, embrace personal growth, and move forward with confidence. She is passionate about walking alongside each individual, offering encouragement, accountability, and compassionate support as they build a healthier future.
